When we began to weave mats in Horred in the 1950s things were very different. A trend could last much longer than it would today.  And a mat was supposed to last a lifetime.

We still think the same today. A mat from Horredmattan is not a passing fancy that is discarded after a while. It’s not a mat that just fits the current fashion. It is timeless.

This is why we work with weavers and designers who understand that function and quality go hand in hand with aesthetics Who follow the development of new materials, colour combinations and patterns. Yet fundamentally, it is our craft tradition that allows us to create mats of plastic, yarn, or a mixture of these, which so many like. It is this that means we can weave a genuine mat from Horredsmattan, which no one else can.
